11/13/09- Paula's Eating/Exercise Journal: Friday

How do we all come to peace with  our body type?  We see our bodies change as we move through our 20's 30's...we see our bodies change at different times of the year...but is our basic body type predisposed by our genes?

We've seen famous people like Oprah, Kirsty Alley, and Kelly Clarkson get slammed in the media for yo-yo dieting and huge fluctuations in their weight.  They each have defended their looks and found some kind of peace with their shapes.

Kelly Clarkson states in Self Magazine, that she doesn't get the attention to her weight.  She's just expressing her singing/song writing and doesn't care if she's wearing the 'it' outfit.  She talks of a class called Crossfit which is like boot camp, that she really enjoys!  But what it's all really about is finding peace with your body.

You have to keep making efforts to eat well, and exercise, but you also have to accept your body type, and don't create unrealistic expectations that can never be met!
